UKAA APPOINTS ITS EXECUTIVE BOARD

At its inaugural board meeting this week, the UK Apartment Association (UKAA), the newly formed membership organisation that focuses on the build to rent sector, appointed its board of directors, including electing Managing Director of Atlas Residential, Jonathon Ivory, as its President.

The UKAA, founded in April 2016, is the first membership organisation that brings together all stakeholders of the professional rental market and helps share best practice for this fast evolving sector. As well as providing a valuable platform for the industry, the UKAA will lead educational training, customer service delivery, study tours and provide a suppliers’ forum, market data and a range of resources to help deliver better services for residents.

Other members elected to the Board, alongside Chief Executive Michael Green, who was appointed in May, include Michela Hancock of Greystar as Treasurer and Neal Gemassmer of Yardi as Secretary; as well as Tim Swaddle of Roomservice by CORT, Michael Howard of Urban Bubble, Roger Southam of Savills, Matthew Howard of Hermes Real Estate, Andrew Carey of Real Foundations, Andrea Masey of Yieldstar, and Doug Culkin of the NAA.

Michael Green, Chief Executive of the UKAA commented: “The UKAA is just getting started and we have great plans and ideas to contribute to the success of this growing sector. With a very experienced board of directors now established, we can use their varied expertise to raise the benchmark of service within the build-to-rent market and raise standards across all aspects of the sector. I’d like to welcome all the members of the Board, and I look forward to working with them to create a more professional market to ultimately give residents a better service.”
